FAQ
What is an HTTP redirect?
An HTTP redirect (301, 302, etc.) tells the browser to go to a different URL. This happens automatically and is often invisible to the user.
What is the difference between 301 and 302?
301 is a permanent redirect (search engines transfer link equity). 302 is temporary (original URL keeps its SEO value).
How many redirects is too many?
Google recommends no more than 3 redirects. Each hop adds latency and can lose link equity.
Can I unshorten links with this tool?
Yes. Paste any shortened URL (bit.ly, t.co, tinyurl, etc.) and the tool will reveal the final destination.
Is this tool safe?
Yes. We follow redirects server-side without loading the target page in your browser. Potentially harmful URLs are flagged.
