How accurate is the GPS location?

Accuracy depends on your device and environment. Smartphones with GPS typically achieve 3–10 meter accuracy outdoors. Indoors or on desktop, accuracy may be 20–100+ meters as the browser uses WiFi or IP-based positioning.

Does this tool store or track my location?

No. All processing happens 100% in your browser. Your coordinates are never sent to our servers. Saved bookmarks are stored only in your browser's local storage.

How do I share my location with someone?

Click any share button: copy coordinates to clipboard, generate a shareable link, create a QR code, or open your location directly in Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze. On mobile, use the native Share button for messaging apps.

What is a Plus Code?

Plus Codes (Open Location Codes) are short location codes developed by Google that work like street addresses for places without them. For example, "85633Q3R+JV" pinpoints a specific ~3m×3m area on Earth.

Does the compass work on desktop computers?

The visual compass works best on mobile devices with orientation sensors. On desktop, the compass shows your heading direction only when you're moving (using GPS heading data).

Why does the browser ask for location permission?

The Geolocation API requires explicit user consent for privacy protection. Your browser will ask once, and you can revoke permission anytime in browser settings. We never access your location without your approval.
