Frequently Asked Questions
How does the light detector work?
The tool uses your device camera to capture video frames, analyzes the average brightness of each frame, and maps that value to an audio tone. Brighter light produces a higher pitch and louder volume.
Is it accurate enough for daily use?
It provides a reliable relative measure of brightness. While not a calibrated lux meter, it clearly distinguishes dark, dim, moderate, bright, and very bright conditions — enough for tasks like finding windows, checking if lights are on, or locating light sources.
Does it work on mobile phones?
Yes, it works on any device with a camera and a modern browser. On mobile phones, it prefers the rear camera for better light measurement. Vibration feedback is also available on supported devices.
