How to Use the Gaming Ping Test

1
Open the tool

The ping test starts automatically when the page loads. Your browser sends 10 measurement requests to determine base latency.

2
Review region results

Check ping estimates for 8 game server regions. Each card shows latency in milliseconds with color coding: green (<30ms], yellow (30-60ms], orange (60-100ms], red (>100ms].

3
Check game compatibility

The compatibility matrix shows whether your connection meets requirements for different game types. Copy results to share with teammates.

FAQ

How accurate is a browser-based ping test?

Browser tests measure HTTP round-trip time, which includes protocol overhead. Actual in-game ping (UDP] is typically 5-15ms lower. Use this as a relative comparison between regions, not an absolute measurement.

Why are all regions showing similar ping?

The test measures your connection to the nearest CDN edge and estimates regional latency based on typical routing distances. If your base connection is slow, all regions will show higher values.

What ping do I need for competitive FPS games?

For competitive FPS games like CS2 or Valorant, under 30ms is excellent and under 50ms is playable. Above 80ms you will notice hit registration delays and peeker's advantage issues.

What is jitter and why does it matter?

Jitter is the variation in ping over time (standard deviation]. Even with low average ping, high jitter (>15ms] causes inconsistent gameplay — rubber-banding, teleporting players, and missed inputs.

Can I improve my ping to game servers?

Use a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi, close background downloads, choose the nearest server region in-game, and consider a gaming VPN if your ISP routes traffic poorly to game servers.
