Frequently Asked Questions

Will converting stereo to mono lose quality?

Mixing L+R to mono combines both channels with equal weighting — no audio content is lost. The resulting file will sound the same on single-speaker devices. If you choose Left Only or Right Only, you keep just that channel's content.

Why convert stereo to mono?

Common reasons: podcasts are typically mono (smaller files, better compatibility), some audio plays in only one ear and needs fixing, or your editor requires mono input. Converting to mono also halves the number of audio samples.

What does Swap L/R do?

Swap exchanges the left and right channels — the output remains stereo. This fixes recordings where the microphones were wired to the wrong inputs, or when the left/right balance feels reversed.

How does Split L/R work?

Split creates two separate mono files — one containing only the left channel audio, the other only the right. Each file is downloaded independently. Useful for separate post-processing of individual channels.

What formats are supported?

Input: MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC, M4A, WebM and more. Output: MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG. Files up to 2 GB are supported.
