What is the difference between dead, stuck, and hot pixels?

A dead pixel is permanently off (appears black). A stuck pixel is permanently on in one color (red, green, or blue). A hot pixel appears white or abnormally bright. Dead pixels usually cannot be fixed, but stuck pixels can often be repaired.
