Does this really work against dogs?

Ultrasonic frequencies (15-22 kHz) can deter many dogs, but effectiveness varies by breed, age, and individual sensitivity. This works on the same principle as commercial ultrasonic dog repellent devices, but phone speakers have limited high-frequency output compared to dedicated hardware.

What is the difference between Silent and Loud modes?

Silent mode emits only ultrasonic frequencies (15-22 kHz) inaudible to most adults. Loud mode adds an audible 3.5 kHz pulsing siren that also startles dogs and alerts nearby people. Maximum mode boosts both signals to 200% power.

Can other people hear the sound?

In Silent mode, most adults cannot hear frequencies above 16-18 kHz. Children and young adults may hear a faint high-pitched sound. In Loud and Maximum modes, the siren is clearly audible to everyone.

Is this safe for my own pets?

The ultrasonic sound may cause discomfort to any nearby dogs, including your own pets. Do not use this tool near friendly dogs or pets. It is designed strictly for emergency situations with aggressive or stray dogs.

Why does 200% volume sound distorted?

Volume above 100% pushes the audio signal beyond normal limits, causing intentional clipping (distortion). This actually makes the sound harsher and more unpleasant for dogs — which is the desired effect for a repellent.

Does this work on my phone?

Yes, it works in all modern browsers. However, phone speakers have limited high-frequency output (typically up to 16-18 kHz). For the best ultrasonic range, use external speakers. The Loud/Maximum modes add audible frequencies that work well on any speaker.
