Frequently Asked Questions

Does removing audio reduce video quality?

No. By default we use lossless stream copy — the audio track is stripped without re-encoding the video. The result is byte-for-byte identical video quality. Re-encoding only happens if you choose to convert to a different format.

How to remove audio from video without re-encoding?

Select "Same" as the output format. This uses stream copy which removes the audio metadata without decoding or re-encoding the video data. The process is nearly instant even for large files.

Can I extract the audio into a separate file?

Yes. Toggle "Save audio to file" and choose a format: keep the original codec (e.g. AAC → M4A) or convert to MP3, WAV, FLAC, or OGG.

What video formats are supported?

All popular formats: MP4, WebM, AVI, MKV, MOV, WMV, FLV, and 3GP. You can also convert between formats while removing audio.

Is there a file size limit?

We recommend files up to 500 MB. Since processing happens in your browser, very large files may cause memory issues on some devices.

Can I remove audio from video on my phone?

Yes. The tool works on any device with a modern browser — iPhone, Android, tablet. No app installation needed.

Is there a watermark on the output?

No. The output video has no watermark, no branding, and no limitations. Completely free.
