Does my script get uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your script is stored only on your device using localStorage. We never see or collect your text.
How does voice-activated scrolling work?
It uses your browser's speech recognition to listen to your voice and match spoken words with the script text. The teleprompter automatically adjusts its scrolling speed to match your speaking pace. This feature works best in Chrome and Edge browsers.
Can I use this with a beam-splitter teleprompter?
Yes! Enable Mirror Mode in the Advanced settings to horizontally flip the text. This makes it readable when reflected off beam-splitter glass in front of your camera.
What is Focus Mode?
Focus Mode dims all text except the 2-3 lines you're currently reading. This reduces visual clutter and helps you maintain your place, especially with long scripts.
Can I display the teleprompter on another device?
Yes! Click "Generate Link" in the Scripts tab to create a link that includes your script and all settings. Open it on a tablet or phone — everything transfers automatically. You can also scan the QR code for quick access.
What file formats can I import?
You can import plain text (.txt), Microsoft Word (.docx), and PDF files. You can also simply paste text directly into the editor.
Does it work on mobile devices?
Yes. The teleprompter is fully responsive and supports touch gestures — tap to play/pause, swipe to adjust speed, and pinch to change font size. The screen stays awake during prompting.
