Who is this tool for?

How to Test Your Touchscreen

  1. Open the Multitouch tab. Place multiple fingers on the touch area to see how many simultaneous touch points your screen registers.
  2. Test for dead zones. Switch to the Dead Zone tab and swipe across every cell. Gray cells that never turn green indicate unresponsive areas.
  3. Check for ghost touches. Open the Ghost Touch tab, tap Start, and do not touch the screen for 15 seconds. Any phantom touches will be flagged.

FAQ

How many touch points should my screen support?

Most modern smartphones support 5-10 simultaneous touch points. Tablets typically support 10. If your device registers fewer than expected, it may indicate a hardware issue.

What are ghost touches?

Ghost touches are phantom touch events that occur without any physical contact with the screen. They can be caused by a damaged digitizer, moisture, a faulty screen protector, or software bugs.

What causes dead zones on a touchscreen?

Dead zones are areas that do not respond to touch. Common causes include physical damage, a cracked digitizer layer, loose cable connections inside the device, or pressure damage from cases.

Does this test work on desktop?

The test works on any device with a touchscreen, including touch-enabled laptops and all-in-one PCs. Devices without a touchscreen will only show mouse-simulated single touch.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. All testing happens locally in your browser. No touch data, coordinates, or results are uploaded to any server.
