A free browser-based tool for designing printable line-follower and micromouse tracks. How to Create a Printable Track

Choose a style and difficulty

Select Random loop, Grid maze, Figure-8, or Geometric from the Track style dropdown. Adjust difficulty and line width to match your robot's sensors.

Set page size and grid

Pick A4 or US Letter and choose how many pages to tile (1×1 up to 4×4). Larger grids produce bigger courses.

Generate and print

Click Generate to preview, then Print / Download to open the print dialog. Cut the registration marks and tape pages together on the floor.

FAQ

What line width should I use?

Most line-following robots use 15–20 mm wide black tape. Set the line width to match your tape so the printed course looks identical to a real track.

How do I tile the printed pages?

Each page has small corner registration marks. Overlap the marks between adjacent sheets, tape them on the back, then lay the assembled course on the floor.

Can I reproduce a track later?

Yes — enter a seed number before generating. The same seed always produces the same track, so you can share it with teammates or recreate it next week.

What competitions is this suitable for?

The grid-maze style is suitable for micromouse-style challenges; random loop and geometric styles work well for VEX, FLL, and school line-follower events.

What are line gaps and intersections for?

Line gaps are short blind breaks the robot must cross without a line to follow; intersections add cross and T junctions. Both make the course harder and test path-recovery and decision logic. Leave them off for a simple closed loop.

Why download an SVG?

The SVG is a vector file at true millimetre scale — open it in any vector editor, send it to a laser cutter or vinyl plotter, or fine-tune the track before printing.
