Frequently asked questions

How are the days counted?

By default the calculator counts calendar days between the two dates, not including the end date itself. Toggle "Include the end date" if you need the total span to cover both endpoints (for example, billing an inclusive stay).

What counts as a working day?

Working days are calendar days except Saturdays, Sundays and any public holiday in the selected holiday set. Choose US, UK, RU or EU to remove the corresponding fixed-date public holidays.

Are moving holidays like Easter included?

No. Only fixed-date holidays (like 1 January or 25 December) are included. Moving holidays vary widely by country and religious calendar and are beyond the scope of this calculator.

What happens if I swap the dates?

Swapping is automatic — the tool always shows the absolute difference. Use the "Swap dates" button only if you want the order of display to flip.

Can I add or subtract months or years?

Yes. Switch to the "Add or subtract days" tab, choose the unit (days, weeks, months, years), enter an amount, and pick + or −. The calculator handles month lengths and leap years automatically.

Does "skip weekends" apply to months and years too?

No. Skipping weekends only makes sense for days, so it applies only when the unit is set to days. For weeks, months and years the resulting date may fall on any weekday.
