Poetry analyzer for metre, rhyme and syllables

Five classical templates: iamb (⏑−), trochee (−⏑), dactyl (−⏑⏑), amphibrach (⏑−⏑), and anapest (⏑⏑−). If lines do not fit any template, the result is labelled "free verse" or "undetermined". Korean additionally detects sijo; Arabic detects six of al-Khalil's Bahr metres (Tawil, Basit, Kamil, Wafir, Rajaz, Mutaqarib); Indonesian detects pantun, syair, and gurindam.

Marks appear above each word, one per syllable: "−" stressed, "⏑" unstressed, "·" unknown (word not in dictionary). Hover any line for a compact tooltip with the full pattern + syllable count. Marks align directly above their source syllable so feet are easy to count.

Double-click any word in either textarea to open a popup of rhymes from the dictionary (matched by the phonemic tail from the primary-stressed vowel). Alt+R on keyboard, long-press on touch. Click a chip to insert the rhyme at the cursor. In Analyse mode you can also click a word in the visual scansion grid to get rhymes for that specific word in context.

Haiku (5-7-5), tanka (5-7-5-7-7), sijo, limerick (AABBA), sonnets (Shakespearean ABABCDCDEFEFGG, Petrarchan ABBAABBA, Spenserian ABABBCBCCDCDEE), Onegin stanza, Dante's terza rima, quatrain variants (cross / paired / envelope / monorhyme / rubai), couplet, pantun, syair, gurindam. When every stanza shares the same shape, a composite form is reported ("5 quatrains").

Alliteration is the repetition of initial consonants in nearby words ("Peter Piper picked a peck"). Assonance is the repetition of stressed vowels. The analyser groups words by initial consonant for alliteration and by stressed vowel for assonance; groups of ≥ 2 words in the same line surface as findings with coloured chips.

A draft is saved locally in your browser (localStorage), one per interface language. It is restored automatically next time you open the page. The text is never sent to a server for storage — only anonymous usage statistics (which features you used) are recorded. The "Clear" button discards the draft.

Yes. For poems longer than 200 lines the renderer batches rows in 50-line requestAnimationFrame chunks so the main thread stays responsive. Tested with full chapters of Eugene Onegin (~5,500 lines) without lock-ups.

Three ways: "Copy" writes a Markdown-formatted table to the clipboard (pastes cleanly into Notion / Obsidian / Google Docs); "Export PDF" opens the browser print dialog with print-specific styles; "Share" opens the native share sheet on mobile and falls back to clipboard on desktop.
